HARRIS, Mich. — After winning the 34th annual Forsyth Classic on Sunday, Isi Gabsa (Munich, Germany) jumped into the Volvik Race for the Card top-10, climbing 10 spots to No. 5 for our “Move of the Week.”

Taking home a winner’s check of $19,500, Gabsa has earned $34,989 through eight starts. Now her attention turns to the 8th annual Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass Golf Club in Harris, Mich., from June 22-24.

“It’s always exciting to get that orange bib, that’s one big thing,” said Gabsa, referring to the caddy identifier those in the top-10 wear. “To be up there now, just want to try to keep my place, maintain it. Of course trying to advance [my game] and keep it up for this week.”

Trailing Gabsa by only $982 and occupying the No. 6 position is Vicky Hurst (Melbourne, Florida). From there, Pajaree Anannarukarn (Bangkok, Thailand), Maia Schechter (Chapel Hill, N.C.), Louise Ridderström (Stocksund, Sweden) and Lauren Kim (Los Altos, California) all slide down one spot, respectively, to round out the top-10.

Meanwhile, Nos. 1-3 remain unchanged with Jenny Haglund (Karlstad, Sweden) leading the Volvik Race for the Card at $49,019 across seven events.

“For me, this is the last event before I go home so I’m going to give it my all then I get some rest,” said Haglund, who will head back to Sweden for two weeks after the Island Resort Championship. “I land at home on my birthday, have a little party, then I’m going to get some rest and good work done.”

Checking in $10,629 behind Haglund is Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Illinois), followed closely by Dottie Ardina (Laguna, Philippines), who trails Szokol by only $592.

Furthermore, the other player in the top-10 to move up this week outside of Gabsa is Stephanie Meadow (Jordanstown, Northern Ireland) at No. 4, who was previously fifth. She has played in all eight events so far this season, earning $36,094.

“I have been able to consistently make cuts, improve my game and stay near the top of the rankings,” said Meadow, who is third on Tour this year with a 70.750 scoring average. “My goals are still in front of me and that motivates me at every stop to keep plugging along.”

The Epson Tour is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for the ninth tournament on the road to the LPGA Tour in 2018. A total purse of $175,000 awaits the 144-player field, including a $26,250 check for the winner of the 8th annual Island Resort Championship.
